Chesapeake Welcomes New Chief of Police
Kelvin L. Wright was named Chesapeake's new Chief of Police on April 1st. Chief Wright began his law enforcement career in Chesapeake in 1982 as a patrol officer, and held positions as a Field Training Officer, in the Traffic Enforcement Section and in Vice and Narcotics Investigation, among others. He rose through the ranks as Sergeant, Lieutenant and Major. Chief Wright is a 22-year resident of Chesapeake and a dedicated public servant. He and his wife, Janet, have two sons, Kelvin and Anderson.
